AMUNC 2013 will be held in Wellington, New Zealand from July 7 – 12 2013.
The Asia-Pacific Model United Nations Conference is one of the world’s most prestigious Model United Nations conferences.
Each year, AMUNC brings together over 600 young leaders from across the Asia-Pacific region for a week of stimulating debate and negotiation. Founded in 1995 by the University of Sydney Model United Nations Society, AMUNC is organised entirely by youth for youth, and offers future leaders an opportunity to experience the world of diplomacy while also articulating their vision for a brighter future.
Students are given the opportunity to represent one of the UN’s 193 member states, as well as a number of other non-country entities, on a diverse rang of committees that represent an important cross-section of the United Nations’ work and responsibilities. As it also offers students the chance to hear from inspiring speakers and experts on a wide variety of topics, AMUNC is a unique educational opportunity for anyone with an interest in international relations generally or any of the numerous global issues we collectively face.
The Asia-Pacific is the most diverse region on the planet. With attendees at AMUNC embodying this diversity, it represents a unique coming together of young people who all care about the world and their place in it.
QUT will be sending a delegation to AMUNC 2013. If you’d like to attend, email firstname.lastname@example.org and we will notify you when delegation applications open.
