QUT UNSA is a non-partisan, apolotical student association aiming to raise awareness of the United Nations and the international issues they address.
The club was started in 2007 by a group of inspired students back from their first Model UN Conference. While in the early years UNSA’s activities were limited to the odd conference and discussion evening, the club has continued to grow and today boasts almost 300 members. The initial passion for MUN’s hasn’t died and a university delegation has attended every major MUN in the country.
Closer to home UNSA tries to engage the student body and encourage debate about international affairs and the United Nations. We host regular Roundtables (semi-structured discussions) Mini-MUN’s (where both newbies and more experienced MUN-ers can hone their skills) and fundraisers throughout the year.
UNSA also has a long and proud association with the Brisbane Model United Nations Conference, with many past Secretariat members being associated with QUT UNSA. As a result we strongly encourage our members to attend MUN’s and take advantage of the opportunities they offer.
